Additionally, the CM-8S has advanced rotor recognition software, which uses magnetics to recognize exactly which rotor is installed into the centrifuge. This is pivotal in preventing a mistake if a user were to install a CM-7S rotor which is built for maximum speeds of 3500 RPM.
